Here’s the deal.

Before they were Rachel & Griffin, they were Rachel Lynch and Griffin Wade.
Long before their paths crossed, both were already carving out their own spaces in their respective music scenes. Rachel Lynch spent years in Oklahoma writing and performing solo and with her band, Rachel Lynch & the Daydrinkers. She’s known for her honest songwriting, big voice, and stories that aren’t afraid to get a little messy. Meanwhile, Griffin Wade was in Texas making music of his own - Whirlwind, his debut solo EP, is a raw and reflective collection that captures the quiet storms of life with thoughtful lyrics and striking melodies. During that time, Griffin was also touring the country playing upright bass with Rock Bottom String Band, a raucous boozegrass outfit known for their high-energy shows and rowdy spirit. He spent years cutting his teeth on stages big and small while crafting Whirlwind in the quiet moments between tours.

When they eventually met, everything just clicked. Griffin was touring through Rachel’s hometown of El Reno, Oklahoma, and the first time she heard his voice, she pretty much swooned on the spot. Their relationship and music grew together, and that natural connection shines through on and off stage. Their sound blends Americana and folk with humor and heartfelt honesty, creating a carefully crafted experience that feels like a gathering of close friends and family. They’re unafraid to call out the hard truths of life - love, marriage, addiction, forgiveness - while sharing laughter, vulnerability, and the little flubs that make their performances so authentic and memorable.

But those early solo projects still hold a big piece of who they are as artists. That’s why you’ll find Rachel Lynch & the Daydrinkers and Griffin Wade - Whirlwind featured here in their EPK — those songs are part of the foundation that led to the sound and story of Rachel & Griffin today.
